Wrong Life: Notes on Falling Behind in Your Twenties

‘Wrong Life’ is a collection of reminders for anyone who’s telling themselves that they ‘should’ be farther along by now. The writing project was inspired by conversations with loved ones regarding common stressors from early adulthood: devaluing your creative work, leaving a good job, and feeling like sh*t whenever you take a break.

Notes were collected from personal note-taking devices used between 2019-2021. The final PDF was written using Paste by WeTransfer for formatting and page organization. Adobe Acrobat was used to create JPG files for each image.

Written for

  • Burnt-out former gifted kids

  • Artist friends who needed a break from something they love dearly

  • Anyone dealing with the kind of life changes that don’t look good on Instagram.
